Online gambling revenue rises in Delaware
Delaware has revealed that during January operations, online gambling revenue rose 38.8% when compared to the same period a year before.
US.- The Delaware Lottery has reported that online gambling activity in the state is on the rise. January registered a 38.8% year-on-year increase, while spending in the state rose by US$2.8 million last month.
The official figures indicate that the three licensed operators in Delaware totalled US$387k in revenue, up from the US$279k that the state managed to achieve in January 2018. The figure is also 26.6% higher than the one that the operators registered in December 2019.
Players in the state spent US$10.2 million on online gambling last month, representing a 37.3% rise from the US$7.4 million that Delaware had reported in the activity in 2018. Moreover, consumers won US$9.9 million, around US$2.7 million more than last year.
Sports betting figures
Sports betting achieved a good performance in January. Revenues totalled US$1.5 million, despite a decline in player spending during last months operations. The US$1.5 million represents a 5.5% year-on-year increase in sports betting revenue in Delaware, up from the US$1.4 million that the three operators in the state had registered during the same month last year.
These figures come despite a decline in player spending in Delaware. Handle declined 23.6% from US$11.9 million to US$9.1 million, while winnings also decreased by 28.2% to US$7.4 million.
Moreover, the Delaware Lottery reported that the top performer in the state was Delaware Park. The facility registered a 9.1% fall to US$886k and a handle setback of 33.7% to US$5.4 million.
