Del Lago casino to open today
This casino is part of the four that New York approved last year.
US.- The Seneca County upcoming casino, del Lago Resort and Casino will officially open its doors to the public this morning. The US$440 million facility located in Tyre is one of the four upcoming facilities planned for upstate New York.
The casino will feature more than 2000 slot machines, 90 table games along with 12 poker tables. Furthermore, the facility will offer six restaurants and a 200-room hotel, and a spa. Jeff Babinski, the casino’s general manager, said that he expects del Lago Resort and Casino to be a convention business destination as well. “I expect that we’ll see a handful of businesses who are in Rochester, Syracuse and in the Finger Lakes region who definitely will want to use our facility to host their colleagues and have events,” he added.
It is estimated that the facility hired approximately 1500 workers for the grand opening. Rochester-area mall mogul Thomas C. Wilmot said: “Some people really put a lot of effort to making this possible. I think only positive things will come from this.” Meanwhile, Tyre’s Mayor believes that projects like this one is what the town needs: “Seneca County as a whole has suffered over the years. This list goes on and on. We desperately need this.”
