Danville looks for casino partner

The city of Danville is soon to decide on a casino with a voter referendum, which is why they are looking for a developer, should the project gets approved.

US.- The casino expansion in the state seems to be well underway and the gaming industry is ready to arrive. That’s why Danville is looking for a casino partner, to be ready should a voter referendum approve a gaming venue.

“We want to be prepared should the state give our citizens the opportunity to vote,” City Manager Ken Larking said. “The more information we have now, the better for our community to help them decide what to do.”

The proposed Danville casino wouldn’t include off-track or pari-mutuel wagering, authorities said.

According to local media, already four casino operators are interested in developing a gaming venue there.

“There likely would be information in the report that may help them put forward a better proposal,” Larking told the Register & Bee on Monday.

Del. Danny Marshall voiced his opinion on the matter.

“With the casino, Danville and state would want to know these are reputable gaming contractors and operators. So they know who they’re dealing with,” Marshall said. “I think the citizens would want that also.”
