Players in Colorado wagered $408.3m in September 2021, up 96.6 per cent year-on-year.

US.- The sports betting season is setting new records across all the US. In Colorado, players spent $408.3m in September, up 96.6 per cent from $207.7m in September 2020 and 92.7 per cent from August 2021. It was the biggest handle of the year, beating January’s $326.9m.

Gross gaming revenue for the month was $22.7m, the second-highest monthly amount on record behind $23.1m in January. The total was up 423.8 year-on-year from $4.2m, and up 44.7 per cent higher from August 2021. Online revenue for the month reached $22.3m and retail revenue $336,607.

Players wagered $402.8m online and $5.6m at retail sportsbooks across the state. With the start of the 2021 National Football League season, football topped the ranking of the most popular sports with $125.8m in bets. In second place came baseball, accounting for $68.7m of all bets placed in September, then collegiate football with $46.9m and $16.3m each for basketball and tennis.
