Churchill Downs acquires another casino

The casino company has completed a deal to take over Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington, Pennsylvania.

US.- Churchill Downs Inc. continues to expand in the US and has just confirmed the addition of another casino. The company completed a deal to take over the Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington, Pennsylvania, for US$100k, following the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approval, received last week.

The casino owner added both the venue and certain assets related to the management of the venue from Eldorado Resorts Inc., they explained in a press release.

Churchill Downs, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., is a racing, gaming and online entertainment company, best known for organising The Kentucky Derby. It owns and operates the largest legal online horse racing wagering platform in the U.S., through its TwinSpires business.

The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) had also approved a request from Churchill Downs Inc. recently to give it control of Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Illinois. The board members voted 4-0 in favour of the operator’s proposal to buy almost 62% of the venue’s parent company, Midwest Gaming Holdings.
