China increases lottery sales in September
The lottery sales in Mainland China increased 13.3% during last month’s operations.
China.- The Ministry of Finance of China released official information which indicates that Mainland lottery sales rose by 13.3% year-on-year during last month’s operations, especially driven by growth in the sports lottery.
The Ministry said in its report that total lottery sales reached €5.2 billion in September. The results were driven by sports lottery sales, which registered a 24.3% increase to €3 billion. Moreover, sales from the country’s welfare lottery rose 1.2% during September and reached €2.2 billion.
While sports lottery sales have been reporting good results throughout the entire year, the FIFA World Cup that took place between June and July in Russia helped China boost its revenue results.
During August operations, sales of official lottery tickets increased by 13.1%. Aggregate sales totalled €4.6 billion in August, whilst welfare lottery sales increased 10 per cent year-on-year to €2.31 billion and sports lottery sales increased 16.4 per cent to €2.33 billion.
