Century Casinos to develop casino in the UK
The company acquired Saw Close Casino, which holds a license to develop a casino in Bath, England.
UK.- Century Casinos’ subsidiary from Austria, Century Casinos Europe GbmH, has announced that the company acquired 100 percent of the common stock of Saw Close Casino Ltd, which had a Small Casino Premises License to build and operate a casino in Bath, England.
Whilst the acquisition has its own approval, the company has to wait for certain regulatory and governmental approvals in order to develop and operate the casino in Bath. The transaction number rises to US$766.000. Saw Close Casino Ltd has accepted a 30 year lease for the casino space and approximately US$6.4 million are expected to be invested to design and equip the 15.000 square feet casino, which is set to feature 35 slot machines, 18 gaming tables and 24 automated live gaming terminals.
The casino is expected to start operations during the first quarter of 2018 if it obtains the approvals it needs. Company’s Co CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, said: “We are excited about the opportunity to enter the UK gaming market with the addition of the Saw Close Casino to Century’s portfolio. We believe the casino in Bath has the potential to provide an attractive return on our investment.”
Back in May, the Polish subsidiary of the company inaugurated a gaming center at the Hilton Hotel in Warsaw. Century Casinos, INC. holds a 66.6 percent ownership interest in Casinos Poland Ltd., the owner and operator of eight casinos in Poland and manages the operations of the casino at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and Casino.
