Cazoo continues sports sponsorship

Press Release.- Cazoo, the online car retailer, has been announced as the new sponsor of the PDC World Darts Championship, replacing William Hill. It continues a trend of sponsorship expansion by Cazoo, often replacing gambling sponsors in the process.

Cazoo’s new darts sponsorship package will see it become the main sponsor of eight of the key darts tournaments on the calendar, including: Masters, Premier League, UK Open, World Cup of Darts and World Championship.

The car retailer was only founded in 2018 but has quickly become the backer of many UK sports events and teams across cricket, rugby, golf and snooker.

Cazoo became the sponsor of Everton and Aston Villa in the English Premier League when gambling sponsors’ shirt deals were not renewed. The company also sponsors the Epsom Derby and Doncaster St Leger.

The UK government has yet to publish the results of its consultation into gambling advertising but some sports associations are already finding new sponsors in non-gambling companies.
