Coronavirus: Casinos shut across the world
Casinos in Europe, the USA and beyond have all closed their doors to prevent the deadly disease from spreading.
Casinos around the world are being forced to close their doors as part of efforts to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
Italy and Spain have been in full lockdown for days now with casinos in both countries closed for the duration of the quarantine period.
The gaming sector is also being impacted in countries that have yet to enter lockdown but are taking preventative measures.
The US
In the USA, Massachusetts, Ohio, Illinois and Michigan have ordered all casinos to shut down. In the last few hours, the Governor of Maryland issued an order for casinos to close their doors as well.
In Las Vegas, Wynn Resorts and MGM announced they’ll shut down their casinos to prevent the virus from spreading while official advice from the state is to take cleaning to the highest level.
In Canada, British Columbia and Ontario have also decided to close gaming venues.
