Casinos Poland opens new location
The company opened a new facility in Krakow on Monday and now holds eight licences in the country.
Poland.- Casinos Poland opened a new location in the country on Monday, extending its number of licences to eight. Despite the increase in the number of licences, Century Casinos, the majority owner, said that they’ve had a few turbulent quarters with the licensing process.
The new facility opened on Monday, July 2nd, in Krakow, and is the sixth operational casino from the company. Casinos Poland holds eight licences, three in Warsaw and one each in Wroclaw, Katowice, Bielsko-Biala, Krakow and Lodz.
Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, co-chief executive officers of Century Casinos, said: “We are very pleased that the important licence tenders in Poland have now been completed and we will soon operate a total of eight casinos in Poland. The Polish casino market continues to be robust and we look forward to generating solid and sustainable returns going forward.”
Century Casinos owns two-thirds of the company, which said that the process to obtain a licence wasn’t as easy as it should have been and that it led to several casinos closing across Poland.
