Casinos Austria to sell international assets
The company is planning on selling all non-Austrian holdings in order to focus on domestic operations.
Austria.- Casinos Austria AG is reportedly trying to sell all international assets of Casinos Austria International to put its focus on domestic operations. Belgian media outlet L’Echo unveiled the news after a confidential presentation that detailed the company’s intentions.
Casinos Austria International currently holds 27 land-based casinos in 11 countries, six casino cruises, as well as online gaming operations and a video lottery terminal subsidiary in Macedonia, CalvinAyre reported. The assets include venues in Germany, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, Australia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Georgia and Palestine. All these operations generate revenue of US$357 million.
Martin Himmelbauer, spokesman of Casinos Austria, confirmed the presentation viewed by the local news outlet, CalvinAyre said. Moreover, the official confirmed that the timing is perfect as the international division’s return to good results after a long time.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the largest shareholder of Casinos Austria, the Czech Sazka Group, wanted to take over further company shares. The Federal Competition Authority (BWB) said that the group wanted to acquire the sole control of Casinos Austria.
