Casino revenue goes up in northern Nevada

Casinos in northern Nevada reported a year-on-year increase in gross revenue of 3.3 percent during October.

US.- The casino industry experienced in northern Nevada a gross revenue increase of 3.3 percent during October, in comparison to the same month during 2016. Gaming venues reported a peak in markets all around the area with the exception of the north shore of Lake Tahoe.

Figures were released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and revealed that Washoe County’s gaming revenue (win) reported an increase of 3.3 percent, showing a performance 6 percent higher than it did in 2016 during the first four months of the fiscal year. Reno rose 3.3 percent and casinos in Sparks jumped 0.5 percent, while Incline Village and Crystal Bay’s resorts dropped by 3.5 percent.

South of Lake Tahoe, Douglas County casinos led the way with a 16.2 percent increase from October 2016, while Carson City-Carson Valley corridor venues, as well as Elko County’s merely jumped by less than a point.

According to the NGCB report, despite the northern Nevada performance, its southern counterpart’s revenue (including Las Vegas Strip) dropped by 6 percent from October 2016 and dragged the industry to only having a gaming revenue increase of three-tenths of a percent.
