Casino Marina opened in Malawi
The casino opened at the Golden Peacock Hotel Complex in New City Centre, Malawi.
Malawi.- Casino Marina opened its doors to the public in Tuesday, along with festivities, live entertainment, a fashion show and cash draws worth over US$135.000. The casino is located at the Golden Peacock Hotel Complex in New City Centre, Lilongwe, Malawi.
The casino offers gaming facilities such as slot machines, blackjack, roulette, baccarat and four kind of poker games. Keith Scrace, Casino Marina’s general manager, said: “We are operating over 21 internationally renowned gaming tables including an automated roulette, four variations of poker and many other exciting gaming facilities. We also have a licensed cocktail bar with various spirits, wine and other types of beer and a 30-seater restaurant with Indian, Chinese and western cuisines.”
More than 250 local staff were hired for Tuesday’s grand opening. The casino will be open from 12 pm to 4 am Friday and Saturday, and 12 pm to 2 am from Sunday through Thursday. Currently, Malawi casinos are one of the most important reasons for the growing tourism sector of the country. The gaming board is also responsible for promoting Malawi’s tourism.
