Don Kornstein to retire from Caesars Entertainment board

Kornstein has served on the board since July 2020.

US.- Caesars Entertainment has announced that Don Kornstein intends to retire as vice chair of the board on December 31. His retirement will reduce the size of the board to 11 members. He has served on the board since July 2020.

Kornstein founded financial consulting firm Alpine Advisors and served as chairman of Caesars Entertainment UK from November 2020 until its sale in July 2021. He was a director of CEC from October 2017 until the merger in July 2020, when he joined the board. During his tenure, he served as chairman of the Transaction Committee and the Strategy & Finance Committee.

He also served on the board of directors of Caesars Acquisition Company, and previously served as a non-executive director on the board of Gala Coral Group. He worked as chairman of the board of directors of Affinity Gaming, chief restructuring officer and chairman at Bally Total Fitness Corporation and served as a member of the boards at Circuit City Stores, Cash Systems, Shuffle Master, and Varsity Brands. He was CEO, president and director of Jackpot Enterprises.

Tom Reeg, Caesars’ chief executive officer, said: “Don has had a tremendous impact on Caesars, which is highlighted by his leadership and wise counsel relating to company and board matters. Kornstein commented: “After 12 years of active participation on the various Caesars entity boards, oversight of several strategic initiatives and the current focus on operations, I’ve decided the timing is right for this personal decision. As an instrumental participant in the conception and completion of the merger between Caesars and Eldorado, I’ve enjoyed and will always appreciate the collaboration with Tom, the board and executive management in furtherance of the combined company’s strategic goals.”
