Britannia Stadium will be renamed as “Bet365 Stadium”
Stoke City football club signed a deal with the sports betting brand that includes the change of the stadium’s name.
UK.- Bet365 once again achieved a relevant lucrative sponsorship deal with a British football team. This time, the Stoke City club agreed to a 6-year partnership that includes the naming rights of the arena, which will change from “Britannia Stadium” to “Bet365 Stadium.”
Official players will be wearing new shirts with the brand’s logo as well, at least for three years. The naming agreement was signed to cover the 2015/16 season and was extended for five more years. The club will also fill the gap between the DPD and Marston’s Pedigree Stands, taking the stadium capacity to more than 30,000.
Tony Scholes, chief executive at Stoke City, commented: “The Premier League is constantly evolving and to ensure that Stoke City remain as competitive as possible it’s important we explore as many ways as possible of generating revenue. As supporters are no doubt aware, the Britannia brand no longer exists and it was important that we attracted a new stadium naming rights partner. The Premier League is watched around the world and bet365 are a truly global company.”
