Borgata launches mobile sports betting
The company launched its mobile sports betting services on Wednesday in Atlantic City.
US.- Borgata Casino has officially started taking sports bets through mobile devices on Wednesday, August 22nd. The Atlantic City casino launched its mobile sports betting service for Android phones by placing a US$50 bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to win its opening game.
Borgata, one of the few online operators in New Jersey, also became the first one to offer sports betting services in the state after the US Supreme Court lifted the federal ban that prohibited states from offering the gambling modality. New Jersey regulated the segment in June, reporting millionaire results for its first month of operations.
Casino officials said that other mobile phone operators will be supported on its “playMGM NJ Sports” app shortly. “We look forward to building on our success in New Jersey and expanding our sports betting offerings as the national leader in sports betting,” said Scott Butera, MGM Resorts International president of interactive gaming.
“After a tremendously successful launch of land-based sports betting at Borgata, we are excited to offer this product that both complements our retail sports wagering offerings and lives up to the brand reputation established by Borgata and MGM Resorts, said Marcus Glover, president and COO of Borgata. “The launch of PlayMGM NJ Sports is expected to bolster land-based sports wagering at Borgata and further establish our company’s leadership in the New Jersey market and beyond.”
