Bloomberry to open new Solaire casino in 2022
Bloomberry Resorts plans to complete its second Solaire casino’s master plan by 2019 and complete construction in 2022.
Philippines.- According to the founder and chairman of Bloomberry Resorts, Enrique Razon Jr., the second Solaire casino in the Philippines could be completed by 2022. The executive said the master plan should be done by January 2019 and projected the total floor to be the same as its casino in Entertainment City in Manila.
“We will complete the master plan for the Quezon City casino project by January next year. This is part of our strategy to capture the base mass segment in the north,” he said about the land bought in 2015 by Bloomberry’s parent company, Sureste Properties Inc, for US$37.8 million. However, since the 3.87 acres is smaller than the real estate in Manila, the total floor space goal would be completed by building up.
Regarding the short distance between Manila and Quezon City (18 miles), Mr. Razon Jr. said he’s not concerned about cannibalisation as the company expects the market to grow. “We foresee that tourism will continue to play a significant role in the growth of Philippine IRs. Growth will likewise be boosted by the rise in middle-class incomes and increasing connectivity across the region. In Entertainment City, infrastructure and real estate projects are being constructed at a rapid rate and this should drive increased foot traffic into Solaire,” he stated.
