BGaming turns sustainability pledge into measurable action at SBC Lisbon

Recycled stand materials, eco merchandise, a beach clean-up and a schools partnership show how BGaming is putting its “WE CARE. WE ACT” commitment into practice.

Key takeaways:

  • BGaming extended its WE CARE. WE ACT sustainability initiative to Portugal during SBC Summit in Lisbon, combining event choices with community and environmental projects.
  • The company’s stand used panels made from recycled materials and replaced brochures with a single recyclable QR card, avoiding approximately 16 kg of printed paper.
  • Merchandise included organic cotton items, custom poker sets made from 100 per cent recycled plastic (over 95 per cent post-consumer waste) and carabiners produced using 7 kg of recycled plastic.
  • After the expo, the BGaming team joined a Lisbon Oceanarium beach clean-up, collecting 2 kg of plastic and 1 kg of cigarette butts in two hours.
  • Through a partnership with Porto-based VIVA Lab, BGaming will support 10 Precious Plastic and Plastic Play activities engaging up to 240 students and transforming around 60–70 kg of polypropylene (PP).

Press release.- BGaming has brought its WE CARE. WE ACT sustainability initiative to Portugal, using SBC Summit in Lisbon as a platform to move from commitment to measurable action. Between a recycled stand design, eco-focused merchandise, a beach clean-up and a schools partnership with VIVA Lab, the provider is quantifying its environmental and social impact in concrete terms.

As part of the project, BGaming has incorporated recycled materials into its SBC Summit stand and merchandise, supported local non-profit organisation VIVA Lab, and taken part in a team beach clean-up in Lisbon. Together, these activities take the project beyond the exhibition floor, combining more conscious choices with tangible support for the local community and environment.

BGaming’s stand at SBC Summit gave the initiative a tangible physical presence, incorporating panels made from recycled materials into its design. The studio also reduced its use of printed materials at the event, providing visitors with a single recyclable card featuring a QR code instead of traditional brochures and product leaflets. By switching to digital materials, BGaming avoided printing approximately 16 kg of paper.

The merchandise includes a line made from organic, eco-friendly cotton, as well as custom poker sets made from 100 per cent recycled plastic, with more than 95 per cent of the material coming from post-consumer waste and no glue or toxic additives used. The gifts also included carabiners made using 7 kg of recycled plastic, giving the material a new purpose. As a result, the merchandise serves as a tangible reminder of the environmental and sustainability principles BGaming seeks to promote.

After the expo, BGaming took part in a beach clean-up organised by the Lisbon Oceanarium. In just two hours, the BGaming team collected 2 kg of plastic and 1 kg of cigarette butts from the beach, cleaning up waste near Lisbon that might have otherwise been swept into the ocean and damaged the wider ecosystem.

BGaming has also partnered with VIVA Lab, a Porto-based laboratory that specialises in turning ideas into real-world projects through education. They are also involved in plastic recycling and the production of machines for processing recycled plastics.

As part of this partnership, BGaming will support VIVA Lab’s Precious Plastic project and Plastic Play educational activities. Through a series of 10 activities, up to 240 students will learn how to reuse and transform plastic rather than simply throw it away, with approximately 60–70 kg of polypropylene (PP) transformed in the process, generating measurable social, environmental, and educational impact.
