Sports betting gets temporarily suspended in West Virginia
Delaware North casinos have suspended their sports betting options due to a “contract dispute” related to its technology supplier.
US.- Both Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras casinos, both operated by Delaware North and the only ones to offer online and mobile sports betting in West Virginia, have temporarily suspended their offering. The casinos’ owner explained its technology platform provider (Miomni Gaming) “encountered a contract dispute with a third-party technology supplier,” which forced them to suspend their operations.
The casino owner apologised for taking such a decision but clarified that they would be “honoring and redeeming all resulted bets and are working to determine a timeframe to restoration.”
It still remains unknown what type of legal issue has forced Miomni and Delaware North to decide to suspend taking sports wagers.
The companies had announced in October their partnership to launch retail sportsbooks and online sports wagering services last fall for Delaware North’s two West Virginia casinos The Delaware North and Miomni partnership created the exclusive sportsbook technology platform for Delaware North’s gaming properties in states where sports wagering is or becomes legal.
