BetMGM appoints former ESPN digital chief as COO

Ryan Spoor will join BetMGM next month at the New Jersey offices.

US.- BetMGM has appointed former ESPN’s senior vice president of social and digital content as its new chief operating officer.

Ryan Spoor will begin his new role on November 16, working from the New Jersey offices. He will report directly to chief executive Adam Greenblatt. 

Greenblatt said: “BetMGM has seen early success in establishing itself as a significant player in the sports betting world through relationships with leagues, teams and partners.

“With Ryan’s expertise in developing scaled and engaging digital experiences, BetMGM will leverage those relationships in entirely new ways.”

In his previous role, Spoor was responsible for building, operating and growing many of the leading digital properties owned by ESPN.

Other achievements include winning the Sports Business Journal Forty Under 40 award twice. He previously spent time as a venture capitalist at Polaris Venture Partners.
