Betclic nets French Ligue 1 partnership

The Betclic brand will become the official sports betting platform for French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 for three seasons.

France.- Betclic Everest Group has clinched an agreement with France’s La Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) to become the official sports betting platform for Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 games from 2020-21 until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Bordeaux-based Betclic will launch activities on online and social media platforms and at matches to promote the partnership.

Both leagues curtailed their 2019-20 season because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Paris Saint-Germain, which already had a 12-points lead when matches were cancelled, was declared champion of Ligue 1. Lorient was declared winner of Ligue 2.

Betclic Everest Founder and Managing Director, Nicolas Béraud, said: “These two competitions are very popular among our players. Ligue 1 in particular is the competition on which Betclic takes the most bets.

“The offer that we are going to deploy as part of this partnership will allow all French football fans to live their passion even more intensely.”

LFP Executive Director General, Didier Quillot, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Betclic as a partner of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT. The arrival of this new partner demonstrates the attractiveness of our two leagues. Working alongside Betclic, a modern and strong company for young people, we have found the best partner to support us in expanding and engaging our fanbase digitally.”
