40 million to bet on the NFL this season

A new survey from the American Gaming Association (AGA) has revealed that approximately 40 million Americans will bet on the NFL this season.

US.- The American Gaming Association (AGA) has published a new survey that shows that 38 million adults in the US are planning to bet on National Football League (NFL) games this season. The figure represents 15% of the US adult population.

The survey, conducted by Morning Consult, indicates that one-in-four (24%) of American adults say that they would place a bet on the NFL this season if sports betting was legal in their state.

Seven million Americans said that they will legally place a bet at a casino sportsbook this year, 1.2 million more than 2018. The poll was conducted online between August 7-12 and sampled 11k American adults.

“During this centennial NFL season, more Americans than ever before can wager on football in safe, well-regulated environments,” said Bill Miller, AGA’s president and chief executive officer. “It is clear that as jurisdictions enact policies to provide a legal alternative to the dangerous illegal market, consumers follow suit and seek the protections they deserve.”

Moreover, the survey shows that 75% of NFL bettors say they are more likely to watch a game they bet on. 28% are more likely to attend a game they have bet on, while 51% are more likely to watch pregame shows and commentary.
