Belarus: FavBet helps fans virtually attend matches
Sportsbook operator gets creative in order to help football fans get their football fix during the Coronavirus crisis.
Belarus.- Sports betting operator FavBet is allowing football fans to appear at virtually at FC Dyanamo Brest matches during the Coronavirus lockdown.
Players can purchase match-day tickets for US$25 each, and appear in the virtual crowd during game.
Fans send photographs of themselves which football club staff then cut out and attached mannequins sat in the stands.
Each virtual supporter also receives a photo report and video review of the match through email.
They also receive a real ticket for the match and match-day magazine through the mail.
Supporters are also able to obtain a 10 per cent discount on all merchandise sold in the official FC Dynamo Brest online store.
Sergey Vorobyov, FC Dynamo Brest Director General: “This campaign not only gives people an opportunity to have some fun, but also serves good purposes with part of the proceeds going to help the fight against the pandemic.”
Belarus is the only country in Europe where the national football championship is still being played.
The first virtual fans were sat in the stand for the match between Dynamo Brest and FC Shakhter, which took place on April 8.
The club is continuing to sell virtual tickets for other home matches.
