Banijay Entertainment sees strong full-year growth

Revenue from gaming rose 10.2 per cent to €1.6bn.

France.- Banijay Entertainment has reported its fiscal year 2025 results, highlighting strong growth in its gaming division. Revenue from gaming rose 10.2 per cent to €1.6bn, with sportsbook contributing 76 per cent of the total. Sports betting revenue was up 6.8 per cent despite the absence of major sporting events compared to 2024.

CEO François Riahi said the gaming division’s immediate focus is preparing for the FIFA World Cup in June. As such, it will wait until after the World Cup to complete Banijay’s integration of Tipico, in which it acquired a 65 per cent stake last October. The company plans to merge Tipico with Betclic, creating Europe’s fourth-largest sports betting and gaming operator and the largest sportsbook in continental Europe.

With the World Cup offering a major opportunity for engagement, he said Tipico is concentrating on rolling out new app features ahead of the event.

Gaming represented 33 per cent of Banijay’s overall revenue in 2025, while streaming remained the largest contributor. The gaming division saw a 23 per cent increase in unique active players, alongside stronger cross-sell between betting and igaming.

Igaming revenue came in at €249m, boosted by a launch in Ivory Coast. Banijay also introduced its proprietary online poker platform in France, a move that saw poker account for 7 per cent of all gaming revenue.

Looking ahead, Riahi said details of the Tipico-Betclic strategy would be shared publicly on March 26. He acknowledged challenges posed by higher gambling taxes in France, with total tax expenses up 29 per cent year-on-year to €142.5m in 2025. However, he noted that disciplined cost management had lifted the gaming division’s adjusted EBITDA margin by 0.6 points to 26.7 per cent. Marketing spend was kept between 6 and 8 per cent of gaming revenue, though advertising tax increases in France offset some reductions.

Beyond gaming, Banijay’s streaming arm is expanding through acquisitions. The company has purchased All3Media in a deal intended to strengthen relationships with global streaming platforms and accelerate monetisation of its intellectual property through digital and live adaptations.
