Australian politics could block casino
The Liberal National Party of Australian state of Queensland is planning to block a casino proposal.
Australia.- The Australian press revealed a plan introduced by the Queensland Liberal National Party that seeks the blocking of the casino proposal in the coastal area. Several representatives of the regional government are opposed to the casino project that could be located on the Sunshine Coast.
According to the official report, the Liberal National Party of the Australian state of Queensland is also rejecting any attempt of granting a gaming license in the region, as they will dismiss any proposal to expand the local gaming industry. The published statement reveals that Liberal National Party Leader Tim Nicholls agreed on backing “the anti-casino stance 100 percent.”
“We do not support a casino here, and don’t believe it is what people want,” said Kawana MP Jarrod Bleijie.”We would not encourage the council to apply for a licence and would do everything to reject it if they go down that path.” And concluded: ”This is not the Gold Coast. If the vision is light rail to a casino, we don’t want it.”
Back in October, the Queensland government revealed that it gave the permission for a second casino to be built on the Gold Coast. The state government will launch a campaign to find an international developer.
