Atlantic City casinos apply for iGaming licenses
The Division of Gaming Enforcement announced that the Ocean Resort and the Hard Rock Atlantic City have applied for iGaming licences.
US.- Atlantic City could see both the Hard Rock Atlantic City casino (Former Trump Taj Mahal) and the Ocean Resort (former Revel casino) opening next spring and its operators are getting ready to offer iGaming options. According to Atlantic City’s Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), both properties have recently applied for licenses to offer internet gaming.
The city already has five casinos with internet availabe operations and, if their requests get approved by the DGE, the two new venues entering the iGaming market would mean that all five gaming developments will get involved in online gambling.
Both casinos are set to open by next spring and Ocean Resorts already has agreed with UK online gambling software provider GAN to launch a real-money online gaming site sometime in the second half of this year.
The online gaming market is set to grow in the near future in Atlantic City but still awaits for the Supreme Court of the United States to rule on the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 and assess the impact the business has on casinos if the sports betting get approved.
