Aspers secures license to open casino in Southampton
After a bidding process, Casino operator Aspers was awarded a license to open its fifth casino.
UK.- Aspers was granted with its fifth license to open a casino at the Royal Pier Waterfront development in Southampton. The license allows up to 150 slot machines and 30 blackjack and roulette tables.
“We are delighted with the Council’s decision to award Aspers the large casino license for Southampton,” expressed Damian Aspinall, chairman of the Aspers group. “We are very proud to have successfully delivered the first two operational large license casinos to the UK and are excited to now have the opportunity to bring a third high quality Aspers casino, including bars, dining facilities and live entertainment, to the city of Southampton.”
The group already operates casinos in Westfield Stratford City, Milton Keynes, Newcastle and Northampton and it runs two of the eight largest casino licenses in the UK, at Westfield Stratford in London, at Milton Keynes, at Newcastle and at Northampton.
The casino group plans to deliver local benefits, starting with up to 200 new jobs in the city and including the creation of a Community Action for Responsible Gambling.
