Coronavirus: Yokohama postpones IR briefings
The decision was taken to avoid large number of people gathering in confined spaces.
Japan.- Yokohama has postponed resident briefings on its planned IR bid in order to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
The city has already held briefings in 12 of Yokohama’s 18 wards with the final six briefings set to take place over the coming days and weeks.
The decision to postpone the briefings was taken to avoid gathering large numbers of people in small spaces.
In the last briefing, held on 14 February, there was a shortage of seats such was the number of people in attendance.
At that meeting, the Yokohama City Council decided that there will be a period of public consultation on the draft policy, starting from March 6 with the aim of announcing its IR policy in June.
