Seven arrested over scam using Wynn Macau name

Group of fraudsters asked people to invest in a scam app called Wynn Macau.

Macau.- A fraud group made millions and scammed at least 200 people with an app that used the name of Wynn Macau casinos. Police have already arrested seven of the members of the illegal organisation.

Authorities tracked down the group to the Guizhou province, where they were using social media to seek potential victims. As part of the scam, they presented themselves as investment experts, recommending victims invest in an app called “Wynn Macau” which had the potential for high profits.

Around 200 people fell victim to the scam over a two week period, leading to losses of around RMB 55 million (€6 million).
