Macau.- The 67th Macau Grand Prix will be held November 19 to 22, the Sports Bureau of Macau has revealed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first time since 1982, there will be no F3 championship. It will be replaced by the first F4 competition to be included in the local motorsports event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will be atypical for other reasons too. According to the MNA, it will be the first edition without a title sponsor. The event in the past has been sponsored by major casino operators such as Suncity Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a budget MOP250 million (US$31.3 million), the event will also have a reduced audience. It is expected that drivers and their teams may have to go through a fourteen-day quarantine on arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sports Bureau president Pun Weng Kun said during the press conference that there is a possibility whole teams could be removed from the competition if one member tests positive for Covid-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee (MGPOC) held a press conference at the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Convention and Exhibition Centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It announced that the event will include six to seven races: Formula Macau Grand Prix, Macau GT Cup, Macau Guia Race, Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix \u2013 54th Edition, Macau Touring Car Cup and Greater Bay Area GT Cup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With many GP races cancelled this year due to the pandemic, the Macau GP will be one of the only international championship events to be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
