{"id":9766,"date":"2020-09-08T09:53:52","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T09:53:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=9766"},"modified":"2026-04-24T02:02:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T05:02:55","slug":"marina-bay-sands-to-join-pilot-mice-tourism-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/marina-bay-sands-to-join-pilot-mice-tourism-programme","title":{"rendered":"Marina Bay Sands to join pilot MICE tourism programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Marina Bay Sands has announced its intention to join a MICE events programme run by the Singapore Tourism Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Singapore.-  Casino and resort company Marina Bay Sands has announced plans to join the government\u2019s new pilot programme for MICE events hosting up to 250 attendees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced Monday it will\u00a0start accepting applications from organisers to host MICE events for up to 250 attendees\u00a0from October 1 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is already one event scheduled at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre for late October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pilot program requires organisers to demonstrate their ability to implement safety measures before gaining approval from the STB and Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marina Bay Sands was quick to confirm its intention to join the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ong Wee Min, vice president of conventions and exhibitions, MICE at Marina Bay Sands, said in a statement: \u201cThe MICE industry is currently experiencing an accelerated digital transformation, and traditional event set-ups no longer serve the needs of event planners in this new environment&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDigitisation, flexibility of venue spaces as well as health and safety protocols will be event planners\u2019 key priorities following the resumption of the industry.
