(PAGCOR) told a hearing in the House of Representatives that 29 Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) have resumed operations in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official said that two hubs are currently being built to house POGOs in Clark and Cavite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>PAGCOR<\/em> <\/strong>vice-president Vice President Juanito Sanosa Jr. added: \u201cConstruction is ongoing so that we can start relocating some of the operators and providers to these POGO hubs soon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be two more hubs but they have not yet been able to begin work because of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hubs will be for POGOs that have received the green light of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to operate again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The localisation of POGOs in hubs was pushed forwards after it was officially recognised that about <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/the-philippines-expects-p20-billion-from-pogos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">P20 billion (USD399million) in POGO tax fees<\/a><\/em><\/strong> was being lost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some offshore operators have <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/less-than-100-pogos-active-during-lockdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not been allowed to restart<\/a><\/em><\/strong> after the lockdown due to unpaid tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the hearing at the House of Representatives, Bonito Singson of the Probinsyano Ako Party said the POGO hubs will allow PAGCOR to concentrate recovering its revenue-raising capability, which was reduced when the pandemic started.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>POGOS will now be concentrated in hubs, with two already in construction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":9749,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"PAGCOR reports 29 Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) have resumed operations, with two dedicated hubs under construction in Clark and Cavite to centralize these entities.
