Australia.- Crown Resorts’ chief legal officer Joshua Preston has admitted to an ongoing New South Wales inquiry that the firm responded to the media with inaccurate information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement comes after the company placed a full-page advertisement signed by the board of directors in July. The ad was a response to media allegations that its junket operators had ties to organised crime<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The advertisement asserted that the junkets in question were controlled by Hong Kong-listed Suncity Group, but Crown has conceded that while the junkets were controlled by Suncity chairman Alvin Chau, they were not controlled by Suncity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current inquiry is being led by the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority following a series of Australian media reports.
