Macau.- The Secretary for Security, Wong Sio Chak, advised to gaming operators<\/a><\/em><\/strong> to increase measures to protect customers\u2019 personal data in casinos. In the conference press hold today in Macau<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, he also remarked the idea to finish with the insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Violent crime cases increased 16.2 per cent in Macau in the nine months compared to the same period of 2018, mainly due to the increase in kidnappings associated with gambling, officials said today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In total, between January and September 2019, a total of 1,872 suspects for gambling-related crimes were identified, with 1,856 officially charged by the Public Prosecution Office, 15.9 per cent more than in last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although security is an important issue, Sio Chak mentioned that \u201cthere has not been an increase in cases of serious and violent crime likely to directly and severely influence the security of society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the things that the police forces are doing to stop with the crimes is working with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau with data update. The idea is that every casino have the identities of people allegedly engaged in illicit money exchange business. In such cases the police would make recommendations that the gaming bureau ban such people from the city\u2019s gaming venues.
