{"id":9234,"date":"2020-08-21T08:24:26","date_gmt":"2020-08-21T08:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=9234"},"modified":"2026-04-24T02:32:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T05:32:19","slug":"macau-visits-increase-228-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-visits-increase-228-in-july","title":{"rendered":"Macau visits increase 228% in July"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC), in July Macau received 74,006 visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- The <strong><em>Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC)<\/em><\/strong> has revealed an increase in the tally of visitors to Macau after the lifting of some border measures last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July, the SAR received 74,006 visitors, which represents an increase of 228.1 per cent on June, when it received 22,556 visitors, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, comparing with the same period last year, the number of visitors to Macau is still down by more than a 90 per cent year-on-year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the figures, the number of day-trippers and tourists in July was 50,210 and 23,796 respectively, and the average length of stay was 1.3 days (up 0.1 days).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bureau informed that the average length of stay for tourists (4.7 days) rose 2.5 days, but for day trippers (0.1 days) it decreased 0.1 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of visitors from China after the loosening of restrictions on the border with Guandong province was 66,489, down 97.4 per cent in annual terms.
