{"id":9129,"date":"2020-08-18T22:43:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-18T22:43:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=9129"},"modified":"2026-04-24T02:39:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T05:39:00","slug":"australia-blocks-eight-offshore-gambling-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/australia-blocks-eight-offshore-gambling-sites","title":{"rendered":"Australia blocks eight offshore gambling sites"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An investigation was launched due to complaints received by ACMA about the withholding of players\u2019 winnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested local internet services providers block eight offshore gaming websites. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has also warned Australian citizens to withdraw any funds held in the eight gambling platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sites to be blocked are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Planet 7 Oz<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ace Pokies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nordicasino<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reeltastic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spintropolis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enzo Casino<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Times Square Casino<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Royal Spinz<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement <strong><em>ACMA<\/em><\/strong> said it set out to investigate the sites due to numerous complaints from users regarding customer treatment and also claims that the companies were withholding players&#8217; winnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACMA found the websites to be operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACMA said: \u201cWebsite blocking is one of a range of enforcement options to protect Australians against illegal online gambling.
