New Zealand moved up its alert level<\/a><\/em><\/strong> after four cases of community transmission of the novel coronavirus were detected in Auckland after 102 days free of new local cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSkyCity Entertainment has decided to close its Auckland casino and entertainment facilities, which reopened in mid-May after an initial closure due to the pandemic in late March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said in a release that it will also be implementing stricter physical distancing and hygiene requirements at its Hamilton and Queenstown properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It said the company\u2019s hotels will remain open to accommodate existing guests pending further advice from the New Zealand government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SkyCity Chief Executive Officer Graeme Stephens said: \u201cSkyCity is fully complying with this latest update from the New Zealand Government. SkyCity is well prepared to respond quickly to these changes and is in a strong financial position to withstand the financial impacts of these temporary restrictions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
