{"id":8568,"date":"2020-07-30T21:47:43","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T21:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=8568"},"modified":"2026-04-24T03:11:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T06:11:55","slug":"kazuo-okada-excluded-from-returning-to-boards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kazuo-okada-excluded-from-returning-to-boards","title":{"rendered":"Kazuo Okada excluded from returning to boards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A court ruling in Japan bars entrepreneur Kazuo Okada from returning to the boards of Universal Entertainment or Okada Holdings, the operators say. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Japan.- \u00a0A decision by the Tokyo District Court is believed to effectively exclude Kazuo Okada from returning to the board of Universal Entertainment or Okada Holdings, operator of <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/Okada Manila,\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Okada Manila<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, for the next 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okada was forced out of the company in 2017 by his son, Tomohiro Okada, thanks to his 43.48 per cent stake and a Trust Agreement with his sister, Hiromi Okada, to control voting rights on her 9.78 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hiromi later reconciled with her father and last year presented a claim in Hong Kong against Tomohiro and Universal, saying she had been tricked into signing the Trust Agreement.
