The return of the IVS and permissions for group tours has yet to be decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Macau.- Authorities in Guangdong province have confirmed that as of August 12 they will resume issuing visas for locals to travel to the Macau SAR region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the time being, they will only authorise visas for business, government, family and education purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Individual Visas Scheme (IVS) and permissions for group tours awaited by the Macau gaming industry, <strong><em><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/no-negotiations-for-return-of-ivs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">are not yet being considered<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. They have been suspended since January due to the pandemic. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Analysts believe that the return of the IVS scheme <strong><em><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-mainland-visitors-unlikely-to-return-yet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">is needed before Macau companies can see an increase in gaming revenue<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year, half of the visitors to Macau from mainland China travelled to the SAR with individual visas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The process will resume from August 12.
