Macau Legend CEO Melinda Chan Mei Yi is not expecting major growth in tourism from the latest measures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Macau Legend CEO Melinda Chan Mei Yi has said she\u2019s not expecting the relaxation of quarantine measures for people travelling from Guangdong province to lead to a significant surge in tourism in Macau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She made the comments referring to the exemption from the 14-day quarantine<\/a><\/em><\/strong> for people coming from Guangdong when they enter Macau if they present a negative Covid-19 test result not older than 7 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said: \u201cWe are waiting but I don\u2019t think for these tourists we will see a large increase in numbers as many restrictions remain. We will have to wait as they still need to get visas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about the economic impact the pandemic has had on the company, she said Macau Legend was suffering the same problems as every other company in the city, and that it had not renewed the contracts of 5 per cent of its 2,000 staff at Macau Fisherman\u2019s Wharf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
