{"id":8032,"date":"2020-07-11T19:39:38","date_gmt":"2020-07-11T19:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=8032"},"modified":"2026-04-24T03:43:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T06:43:28","slug":"new-ldp-leader-supports-osaka-ir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/new-ldp-leader-supports-osaka-ir","title":{"rendered":"New LDP leader supports Osaka IR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ryo Harada, newly elected secretary general of the Liberal Democrat Party\u2019s Osaka Prefectural Assembly has said he is in favour of an IR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Japan.- Osaka&#8217;s plans to bid for one of three integrated resorts to be approved by the national government have a new ally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ryo Harada, the newly elected new secretary general of the Liberal Democrat Party\u2019s Osaka Prefectural Assembly, has expressed a positive opinion of the economic advantages an integrated resort could bring to the city, IAG reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is also in favour of the divisive Osaka Metropolis Plan, which would to eliminate Osaka City to end the area&#8217;s double administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Osaka IR project is one of the favourites to gain one of Japan&#8217;s first three licences but the Covid-19 pandemic means plans to initiate the selection process <strong><em><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/osaka-delays-ir-process-again\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have been delayed with no new deadline set<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So far the project has attracted interest from MGM Resorts International and Japan\u2019s Orix Corp.
