{"id":7922,"date":"2020-07-07T22:23:36","date_gmt":"2020-07-07T22:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=7922"},"modified":"2026-04-24T03:50:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T06:50:07","slug":"macau-adr-improves-in-first-week-of-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-adr-improves-in-first-week-of-july","title":{"rendered":"Macau ADR improves in first week of July"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The consultancy firm Bernstein says average daily revenue has improved compared to June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- Although travel restrictions remain in place in Macau, average daily revenue from gaming (ADR) appears to have improved in the first week of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consultancy firm Bernstein has said that for the first five days of the month, ADR was MOP350 million (US$43.8 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That would be a 91 cent drop year-on-year but a 193 per cent increase on numbers seen in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bernstein says gross gaming revenues (GGR) for the whole month could total a year-on-year fall of between 80 and 90 per cent, depending on whether the <strong><em><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-mainland-visitors-unlikely-to-return-yet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">travel restrictions are eased later in the month<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also estimated GGR for 2020 will be down by 44 per cent on 2019&#8217;s figures, and but should bounce back by more than 96 per cent in 2021.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts believe that even if travel restrictions are <strong><em><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-nearby-markets-could-aid-recovery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lifted only between nearby markets<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, it could significantly aid Macau\u2019s recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The consultancy firm Bernstein says average daily revenue has improved compared to June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":7924,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Macau's average daily gaming revenue (ADR) demonstrated an improvement in the first week of July compared to June, reaching MOP350 million, despite persistent travel restrictions.
