The Singapore integrated resort recorded lower rolling chip volume and a reduced non-rolling chip win rate, while hotel occupancy remained above 95%.

Key takeaways

Singapore.- Marina Bay Sands’ casino revenue fell 14.9 per cent year on year to US$916m in the third quarter of 2026, driving a 9.9 per cent decline in total revenue as gains from hotel, food and beverage and mall operations failed to offset weaker gaming income. Revenue for the three months ended September 30 reached US$1.294bn, down from US$1.436bn in the same period last year, according to financial results released by parent company Las Vegas Sands (LVS) on October 21.

Adjusted property EBITDA fell 20.6 per cent to US$590m from US$743m, while the resort’s EBITDA margin narrowed to 45.6 per cent from 51.7 per cent.

Casino performance was mixed across gaming segments. Rolling chip volume fell 7.1 per cent to US$8.429bn from US$9.069bn, while the rolling chip win rate declined to 4.53 per cent from 4.84 per cent. Non-rolling chip drop increased to US$2.874bn from US$2.552bn, but the win rate fell to 18.7 per cent from 24.5 per cent. Slot machine handle rose to US$6.539bn from US$6.406bn, while the slot hold rate remained unchanged at 4.4 per cent.

Rolling chip results also affected the year-on-year earnings comparison. LVS estimated that they had a negative US$4m impact on Marina Bay Sands’ adjusted property EBITDA in the third quarter of 2026, compared with a positive US$43m impact in the same period last year. However, this difference alone does not account for the full decline in EBITDA.

Marina Bay Sands’ hotel operations recorded higher revenue and improved room-rate performance during the quarter. Room revenue increased to US$162m from US$154m a year earlier. Occupancy edged up to 95.8 per cent from 95.5 per cent, while the average daily room rate rose to US$1,038 from US$982.

Revenue per available room increased to US$994 from US$937. Food and beverage revenue rose to US$104m from US$95m, while mall revenue increased to US$70m from US$69m. Convention, retail and other revenue grew to US$42m from US$41m.

For the first nine months of 2026, the resort generated US$4.16bn in revenue, up from US$3.99bn in the corresponding period of 2025. Adjusted property EBITDA fell to US$2.07bn from US$2.12bn, while the margin narrowed to 49.7 per cent from 53.1 per cent.

LVS reported US$121m in capital expenditure at Marina Bay Sands during the third quarter as work continued on the resort’s expansion. The development is expected to increase accommodation capacity and extend the property’s entertainment offering, including through the addition of an arena.

LVS chairman and chief executive officer Patrick Dumont said the company remained confident in Marina Bay Sands’ growth prospects both before and after completion of the expansion.

The Singapore integrated resort recorded lower rolling chip volume and a reduced non-rolling chip win rate, while hotel occupancy remained above 95%.

Marina Bay Sands reported a 14.9% year-on-year decline in Q3 2026 casino revenue to US$916m, contributing to a 9.9% total revenue drop and a 20.6% decrease in adjusted property EBITDA.
