South Korea.- The union representing Jeju Dream Tower Casino employees<\/strong> is preparing a second general strike as negotiations with management over wages, staffing and working conditions continue. The Dream Tower Casino branch of the Tourism and Leisure Industry Workers’ Union said the strike would go ahead if the differences are not resolved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The timing and format of the action have not yet been decided and will be determined through the union’s internal procedures. Around 300 employees took part in the first strike, according to the union, which said the action affected casino operations. The union also reported staffing issues involving cash buy-ins, high-stakes chip calls and support personnel. Its membership has since grown to around 360 workers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeju Dream Tower has expanded its casino operations. Casino capacity increased from 149 tables in 2024 to 169 in the first quarter of 2026, while the operator has also planned additional poker tables and gaming machines. The venue generated KRW118.6bn (US$84.5m) in casino revenue in Q1, up 40.3 per cent year-on-year, while visitor numbers rose 37.3 per cent to 150,553.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
