Experts from UNLV and the University of Macau contributed to sessions on gambling disorder and responsible gaming policies in Macau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Casino resort operator Sands China<\/strong> says it trained 42 employees<\/strong> in its latest advanced responsible gaming programme. The 11th edition of the Responsible Gaming Ambassador Advanced Training Programme<\/strong> was held at The Londoner Macao<\/strong> in late August and involved staff members drawn from various areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training combined presentations, scenario-based videos, interactive games, role-playing and assessments to examine gambling disorder and how staff should respond to related concerns. Participants who complete the programme receive certificates from the International Gaming Institute<\/strong> at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)<\/strong> and serve as the operator\u2019s responsible gaming ambassadors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alan Feldman<\/strong>, director of strategic initiatives at UNLV\u2019s International Gaming Institute, led a session on recognising signs of gambling disorder and communicating with people experiencing gambling-related problems. Davis Fong Ka Chio<\/strong>, director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau, covered the implementation of responsible gaming policies in Macau and developments in the local gaming industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior counsellors from the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office discussed counselling services available to people experiencing gambling-related problems and shared practical approaches for handling such cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2013, the programme has trained more than 1,000 participants<\/strong>. Sands says the curriculum is updated annually to reflect industry developments and responsible gaming measures introduced by Macau\u2019s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n
