The NSW Independent Casino Commission is working on a framework that could include new conditions and continued regulatory monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Australia.- Star Sydney could regain control of its suspended casino licence<\/strong> by the end of September under a new conditional arrangement with the NSW Independent Casino Commission (NICC)<\/strong>. NICC Chief Commissioner Philip Crawford<\/strong> said the regulator is working with The Star on a framework that would allow the licence to return to the company, subject to additional conditions and regulatory directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrangement would replace the current government-appointed manager, Nick Weeks<\/strong>, whose term is due to end<\/a> this month. Crawford said Weeks is likely to remain involved as a monitor but would no longer manage the casino. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Star Sydney licence has been suspended since October 2022, after the first Bell inquiry found the operator unsuitable to hold a casino licence.<\/p>\n\n\n
