Macau.- The Judiciary Police have arrested six mainland Chinese suspects<\/strong> over an alleged proxy betting scheme that livestreamed slot-machine games from a Cotai casino to gamblers in mainland China. The case has been passed to the Public Prosecutions Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group reportedly entered the casino in the early hours of August 22. They are said to have hidden a mobile phone inside a shoebox that was placed in a shopping bag that had a small opening to allow the device to film the slot machine screen while the group received remote betting instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said some of the group were in charge of supplies and money, others handled the live broadcast, changed the camera view and kept watch. Police seized seven mobile phones<\/strong>, HK$23,000 (about US$2,950) in cash, and slot machine vouchers worth HK$67,975 (around US$8,700). One person is suspected of running at least five similar operations since 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
