Malaysia.- Genting Malaysia has reported a net profit of MYR27m (US$6.7m) for the second quarter of 2026, an improvement over a net loss of MYR25.2m (US$6.4m) in the first quarter of 2026<\/a>. Group-wide revenue increased 32 per cent to MYR3.85bn (US$952m). However, adjusted EBITDA fell 18 per cent to MYR844m (US$209m), mainly due to costs related to the RWNYC launch and a foreign exchange loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result came as the company expanded its casino operations in the United States. Revenue from its US and Bahamas segment rose 166 per cent year-on-year to MYR1.53bn (US$378m), following the launch of full commercial casino operations at Resorts World New York City (RWNYC) in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genting Malaysia said the US market is expected to remain resilient, supported by consumer spending and a steady labour market. In Malaysia, revenue at Resorts World Genting was broadly stable at MYR1.77bn (US$438m), down 1 per cent year-on-year<\/strong>. The company said softer visitation and consumer spending, along with higher payroll costs, affected performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genting Malaysia said it remains cautious about its Malaysian outlook as higher airfares and travel costs continue to put pressure on regional and domestic tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n
