{"id":777046231,"date":"2026-08-17T07:05:37","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T10:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=777046231"},"modified":"2026-08-17T07:49:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T10:49:08","slug":"macau-mice-attendees-up-37-6-in-q2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-mice-attendees-up-37-6-in-q2","title":{"rendered":"Macau MICE attendees up 37.6% in Q2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Macau held 499 events in the April-June period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Macau.- The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) has reported that the number of <strong>Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE)<\/strong> events in Macau remained the same year-on-year, at 499, in the second quarter of 2026.\u00a0The number of participants &amp; attendees of MICE events <strong>increased by 37.6 per cent year-on-year to 314,000<\/strong>, mainly due to exhibitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MICE-driven receipts of non-gaming industries in the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) rose by 54.8 per cent year-on-year to MOP1.59bn (US$197m), driven by the growth in the number of non-local participants and per capita spending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The DSEC reported that 463 meetings and conferences were held in the second quarter, down by 6 year-on-year. The number of participants (54,000) rose by 29.3 per cent. The number of exhibitions was up by 3 year-on-year to 18, and the number of attendees grew by 41 per cent to 257,000. The exhibitions brought together 1,882 exhibitors and 17,357 professional visitors. International exhibitors and professional visitors accounted for 16.8 per cent and 21.4 per cent of the respective totals, up by 1.8 and 2.7 percentage points year-on-year. The number of incentives increased by 3 year-on-year to 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 918 MICE events were held in Macau in the <strong>first half of 2026<\/strong>, broadly the same year-on-year. Meanwhile, the number of participants (494,000) rose 16 per cent. MICE-driven receipts of the non-gaming industries in the Macao SAR stood at MOP2.43bn (US$300m), up 44.8 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last week, the DSEC reported that visitor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-non-gaming-spending-rises-in-the-first-half-of-2026\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-non-gaming-spending-rises-in-the-first-half-of-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">non-gaming spending\u00a0in Macau<\/a> stood at MOP44.47bn (US$5.67bn) in the first half of 2026, up by 17.4 per cent year-on-year.
