They argue that the project could have an impact on the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planned development, which will be reserved for foreign passport holders, is expected to include a casino, hotel, racetrack and more than 1,500 villas and cottages. Construction is <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kazakhstan-approves-new-casino-zones\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kazakhstan-approves-new-casino-zones\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scheduled to begin in 2027<\/a> for completion by November 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents interviewed by local broadcaster KTK questioned whether a casino was the right development for the area. Some said they would prefer investment in <strong>sports and educational facilities for children and young people<\/strong>, while others expressed concerns about the potential exposure of younger residents to gambling and an increased flow of people to the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities have sought to address concerns by stressing that <strong>Kazakh citizens will not be allowed to enter the casino<\/strong>. Identification checks will be required, with operators potentially facing fines or licence revocation for violations.
